So here they are, Marley and Dylan. They're just about the cutest brothers there ever were....if I do say so myself.
Our new Buddy!
Taking a snooze..
I tried to keep Dylan in the back hall to dry off by blocking it off with the chest we keep the mittens and hats in......he wasn't having any of that:)
Cutie...
Look at that little face...
Brothers
Here's a little background on Mr. Dylan. He came up from a shelter in Alabama. There, he developed Kennel cough. Despite knowing this, they chose to neuter him while he was sick. Dylan's cough quickly turned in to pneumonia. There were a few tense days were no one even knew if he would make it. Are we glad he did! After about of month of waiting for him, we knew he was going to be special, and is he ever! He's a hilarious little ball of fluff. We really believe him to be a Portuguese Water Dog- how crazy is that?! I used to dog sit a PWD pup in college, and they look and act so similar. Dylan has super webbed feet, falls right in the size range....so we'll see this summer how he feels about water! Whatever he is- he's great and we are so thrilled he's joined our family!

New Blogger!
So a very good friend of the Wolfe Den has joined the Fluffy Dog foster family as well as the fluffy fostering blogging community, my friend Joslyn. She is fostering "Pummba" aka Porter. You can check out Porter's blog at http://giveadogahome-joslyn.blogspot.com/.
What a GREAT puppy Porter is too! He is huge! I'd guess he's tipping the scales at 50 pounds....and he's not even 5 months! Well, check out her blog to learn more, but I've had the pleasure to meet Porter and he is one awesome, calm, sweet pup!
On a Wolfe Den note- we were able to get Dylan to finally sit still long enough to get some pictures! So tonight I will download them and post them. Also, today I dropped him off to be groomed, so let's cross our fingers they didn't make him look like a poodle(no offense to poodles, but it would be too cold for Dylan, a AL native, to have a bare back-end!)!

The Wolfe Den Grows
Today we added a new member to the Wolfe Den by adopting our foster Dylan. While I refuse to believe consider us foster failures because we really wanted to add another dog to the pack. After we allowed Chloe Polar Bear to slip through our figures we were not going to make the same mistake twice. We look forward to our training our new member. We would really like to continue fostering because we really enjoyed the experience. So more info on Dylan he is about 9 months and full of puppy. He loves to chew on toys and my hand but we are working on that. He is willing to please and like treats which will help in his training. He gets along well with Marley but has not learned not to bite his tail. Marley does not like that sort of behavior. Its kinda funny to have a younger pup around. It makes Marley seem like a grumpy old man. I remember when he was the same way now he is much more mature (yeah right). I say that as he is growling because his toy is stuck under the couch. You think he would learn to keep his toys away from the couch but no we would rather growl until one of us gets annoyed and we help him. Dylan really is a great a dog I could not even imagine giving him up. He fits right in with all of us its like he has been here forever. I look forward to teaching him to run on the tread mill and running next to us while we ride our bikes. We also want to get him used to riding in our canoe being that he is a water dog we should really enjoy that. I have always wanted a water dog...Marley is not a water dog everytime we put him in the water he breaks his tail. Not sure why that happens but once he gets out of the water we can't wag or raise his tail. Anyway I should get going the boys are doing laps in the house.

Dylan has arrived
After several delays, and a few hundred miles Dylan has arrived. So what have we learned about Dylan...well we know that he like to chew. In our living room we have a dog bin filled with toys...or at least it was filled with toys. He gets along very well with Marley. Today I was playing outside with boys and Dylan was chasing Marley and he got a hold of Marley's tail...Marley did not like that. I remember when we were looking at Marley on Petfinder and his description said "gets along well with other dogs, but gets a little grumpy when puppy's chew on his fur," I would have to say that it pretty accurate. Other than that they are both very respectful of each other. Right now Dylan is play bowing trying to get Marley to chase; however, Marley is play with his kong and nothing comes between him and his kong. I have walked both Marley and Dylan twice today and he walks very well on the leash. Dylan is definitely an energetic young pup that will need exercise and lots of toys otherwise he will become bored. Here at the Wolfe Den he will get just that.

No Dylan...yet
Well, The transports from the south have once again been delayed! Here's hoping this weekend is the one -we can't wait to meet him! Originally we were supposed to get Dylan the second weekend in January. So we're anxious to meet him and have a feeling that he'll be a really special little guy!

Update on Dylan
I can't believe no one has turned in an application for Dylan, yet. He looks like such a sweetheart. Unfortuntely he will not be traveling up to Wisconsin this weekend. Aw poor guy he gets to stay in AL where it is warm. But he is recovering nicely from his kennel cough and by the time he arrives in Wisconsin he'll be one happy and healthy pup.

Dylan gets new Name
Our new furry friend will be joining us this weekend. Upon his arrival, he will recieve a new name. He will no longer be known as Dylan, instead he shall be called Sir Miles Thatcher. Sir because it is more proper, Miles which is Latin for fighter, and Thatcher is English for one who repairs roofs. Given some time Thatcher will have some metaphoric meaning (its a name that he will grow into). With the little guys history I find this name to be much more appriopate. We look forward to fostering our new pup, Sir Miles Thatcher.
